In 2 weeks time 'Helios' by Luke Jerram will be visiting Downham between the 19th - 22nd June and we're excited to be a part of this weekend!
Textures of Light is a free creative workshop that invites our local community to co-create a vibrant collage of hopes and dreams for our borough. The collage will be formed with pictures, words, stitching and recycled materials on individual patches - each piece contributing to a larger collective vision. Shaped like the sun from its golds to its reds, this artwork will weave together personal narratives and collective dreams of participants of all ages and backgrounds.
The finished artwork will be on display after the event in Downham Library. Textures of Light is kindly supported by the National Trust in collaboration with Lewisham Council.
Join the workshop space on Durham Hill:
21st June (1-4pm)
22nd June (1-5pm)
We'd love to see you there! If you'd like to get involved in any other way, please drop us a message at hello@philo.org.uk
